Brittany sat on a stump in front of her tent. She thought it would be nice to enjoy the slight fall breeze and the multicolored leaves for a little while. Joy flew up behind her and landed on her blonde head. Her eyes were trained on something in the sky, but it was too far away for her to make out. “Hey, Britt, what’s that?” she asked, tilting her head and pointing at a speck in the sky. The girl squinted her eyes, trying to make out whatever it was that Joy saw. “I dunno. I can’t tell just yet. Maybe it’s a pokemon?” The togetic nodded. “Yeah, that’s probably right. It kinda looks like it’s heading right for us. But maybe that’s just me.” They sat there for a little longer, watching it grow before the mystery pokemon landed right in front of them. It was a Dragonite! Brittany’s mom used to read her a story when she was younger about a tiny Dratini and how is grew into a huge Dragonite.

Brittany hopped up with Joy still on her head and waved at it, grinning widely. “Hi there! I’m Brittany and this is Joy,” she started, motioning to her. “Can I help you with something?” It held up a claw and started digging in it’s bag. That was peculiar. There weren’t that many pokemon that carried bags around. She wondered where it could have come from. But, before she could come up with a solution, it was holding out a bone to her. “Oh, it’s a rare bone!” She picked it up gently. “You really don’t have to- Oh, there’s a note!” She read it and saw that Professor Lopez had sent it. “That makes a lot more sense. Thanks a bunch!” The pokemon in front of her held it’s claw up again and pulled something else out of it’s bag. Brittany almost couldn’t contain her excitement as she picked it up and hugged it to her chest. The professor’s Dragonite had handed her an egg. It was terracotta colored and had some sort of black stripe on it. It was all she could do to not hug the Dragonite as tightly as she could. “Thank you so so so much! Give the professor my thanks, too! And thanks for making the trip! Just…thanks!” She beamed up at it and was pretty sure it smiled back. “Wait! Let me get you a snack before you go! You probably made a pretty long trip here. I’ll be right back.” She hurried over to her bag and carefully held the egg while she pulled out an apple. Going back over to the Dragonite, she handed it to the pokemon. “There ya go! I hope you have a safe trip!” It nodded to her and flew off, waving at her as it left.

A little while later, Brittany was sitting back on her stump. Joy hovered in front of the egg, barely taking her eyes off of it. “What could it be?” She was going through her memory, trying to remember all the pokemon with that kind of coloring, but she wasn’t coming up with anything. “I don’t know… But, the surprise is one of the best parts, right, Brittany?” The blonde smiled and nodded. “Yeah, you’re right! I can’t wait to see what it is, though. Hey, can you help me take care of it? I don’t know how good I’ll be with an egg.” Joy giggled, “Of course I can! I’ll ask everyone else, too! We’ll make sure it stays safe!” The coordinator’s smile widened. “Thanks, Joy. You’re the best. Now come on, let’s make a bed for it!” She stood up and skipped over to her tent with Joy in tow, mind buzzing about this mystery egg.

Yep! Haha, I guess I am! :) Only, she’s a lot better at not getting lost than I am. I always have to follow her instead of her following me!

It was an experience. Never been right beside a volcano before, nor in a hot spring either.

Neither have I! Well, I can’t wait until we can all go there together! We could all have a party or something! Speaking of which, we should all do something together before we leave. It would be fun~

Your team is awesome, Dave, so I’m sure you could definitely face any gym we come across! I don’t really mind either. Only, I think it would be cool to go to Cinnabar at some point!
